Description
The Mobile Capture & Reporting System is a free computer system developed by IDOT in conjunction with the Illinois State Police for law enforcement agencies. The first phase provides for electronically capturing and submitting crash report data. The division of Traffic Safety currently receives approximately 500,000 to 600,000 paper crash reports per year fro processing. IDOT has many internal uses for crash data and provides crash data and statistics to numerous outside entities. MCR has been designed to facilitate future plans to include the automation of citations, overweight, and warning tickets. The system can be used from mobile devices and from office locations. http://www.dot.state.il.us/mcr/mcr.html
