Description
The (CVIEW) is an electronic data exchange system that provides carrier and vehicle safety and credential information to fixed and mobile roadside inspection stations, state agencies, state and local law enforcement, and other third party users. This information allows roadside inspectors (either manually or with the aid of an electronic screening system) to select vehicles for inspection based on summaries of prior inspections of the carrier for which the vehicle and driver is currently operating, as well as carrier, vehicle, and driver safety and credential historical information. The on–line system allows retrieval by enforcement personnel of Oversize – Overweight permits issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Uniform Carrier Registration system ( "UCR") registration receipts issued by the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC), International Registration Plan ( "IRP") carrier and vehicle registrations issued by the Illinois Secretary of State (SOS) and International Fuel Tax Agreement System ( "IFTA") carrier tax filings received by the Illinois Department of Revenue.
