The TSC is responsible for managing congestion on IDOT's District 1 expressway system. The TSC is also responsible for distributing congestion information to the public and to independent service providers and to the Illinois Gateway. The TSC also hosts server equipment for the relocated Gateway Traveler Information System. There are 10 servers at the University of Illinois in Chicago, and 10 at the TSC.
