Maintenance and Construction for NE Illinois Regional ITS Architecture Roles and Responsibilities

City of Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation (DSS)	Maintain city of Chicago street lights.
	Tow illegally parked vehicles from the streets of Chicago and coordinate the towing of abandoned vehicles.
	Provide barricades and other traffic–control devices needed during emergency situations.
	Provides snow and ice control for city streets.
	Performs street sweeping.
	Monitor infrastructure condition.
	Maintain city of Chicago signalized intersection equipment.
City of Chicago Department of Transportation	Provide asphalt and concrete maintenance for streets in the city, including pothole, curb and gutter maintenance.

Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (DOTH)	Monitor infrastructure condition.
	Provide maintenance of county roads including snow and ice control and pavement maintenance.
DuPage County Division of Transportation	Provide maintenance of county roads including snow and ice control and pavement maintenance.
