Roadway Infrastructure Monitoring Functional Area

Description

'Roadway Infrastructure Monitoring' monitors the condition of pavement, bridges, tunnels, associated hardware, and other transportation–related infrastructure (e.g., culverts). It includes sensors that monitor the infrastructure and the communications necessary to report this data to a center or vehicle–based maintenance system.

02The field element shall include infrastructure condition monitoring sensors that monitor the condition of pavement, bridges, tunnels, associated hardware, and other transportation–related infrastructure (e.g., culverts), under maintenance vehicle control.
03The field element shall provide operational status for the infrastructure condition monitoring sensors to the maintenance center.
04The field element shall provide operational status for the infrastructure condition monitoring sensors to the maintenance vehicle.
05The field element shall provide fault data for the infrastructure condition monitoring sensors to the maintenance center for repair.
